Diversity and inclusion workshop with Danny Mills

Dulwich Hamlet striker Danny Mills visited Rising Edge to deliver a talk on Equality, Diversity and Inclusion within the workplace.

Off the pitch, Danny is the club's EDI Officer and works with the likes of Show Racism The Red Card and Kick It Out to highlight issues of racism within non-league football and how it should be reported to the authorities, and hopefully eradicated from the beautiful game.

During the workshop with Rising Edge, Millsy discussed equality, diversity and inclusion as a whole within both their organisation and the insurance sector, looking at gender, disability and all the different strands of inclusion and how bad practice can manifest itself within the workplace and society.

"Rising Edge approached me earlier in the season about doing a workshop on EDI," said Danny, "and after a few conversations, we decided on the theme for the session. Rising Edge is in the insurance sector, which is traditionally a white, male-dominated industry. Rising Edge are determined to contribute to changing this, increase awareness and act upon it."

Philippe Gouraud, CEO and mega-Hamlet fan, added, "It's all about driving fundamental changes across the City, and it starts with increasing awareness and making any steps forward, however small they are."

"I think it is the start of a very good relationship," added Danny. "We will be working on other projects together going forward and I really can't wait to sink my teeth into some really positive work.”
